These days, regulations and standardized licensing and permits involved with operating a commercial trucking vehicle is the norm. All reputable drivers and owner/operators in the province of British Columbia have had to adhere to the national standards supported by provincial regulations as part of the updated National Safety Code Program since April of 2013, when the code was reviewed to improve commercial vehicle safety in BC.
The parking lot is a unique microcosm of complex and puzzling human behaviors. These wide open spaces are ironically some of the most cramped feeling, and driving at 5-10 km/hour can make people feel as though they’re speeding.
Driving lessons are useful to new drivers in a plethora of ways. They’re integral to developing strong skills and habits out of the gate, but the knowledge you’re capable of gaining can also help reduce the costs associated with driving - from maintenance and repairs as they relate to driving style, to saving on taking the road tests only once. Driver training also gives you the confidence and capability to make good judgement calls behind the wheel, keeping you out of the repair shop altogether.
We hear from a lot of enthusiastic and motivated people who are gung-ho to become a truck driver. The reason for this excitement and optimism? They think that it’s all about sitting on your butt and driving all day; they think it’s easy money, and an easy career to maintain and excel at.
