So, you want to be a tow truck driver? This career is challenging yet rewarding, and every day can be different and exciting. There’s also a lot to learn, but it’s a great mix of solitary, independent work that still involves interaction with customers, industry partners, dispatchers, and other commercial operators.
As another change of season approaches, so should another maintenance check-in. You might be thinking “But I JUST did my spring tune up, do I really need to read this?” And the answer is - of course you do! Your attention needs to shift to different parts and functions of your vehicle depending on the season’s demands.
The responsibility to drive defensively rests with drivers in British Columbia but, what does it really mean to be a defensive driver? Defensive driving goes beyond just following the rules of the road. It means anticipating the actions of other road users and taking measures to prevent incidents and collisions on the road.
We’ve all seen it – the person who underestimated the size of their order versus their vehicle at the furniture store, the car with a too-large load halfway out of the trunk, or the mattress strapped precariously to the roof. Improperly or unsecured loads can pose a serious danger not only to you, but to other drivers and riders on the road. Even pedestrians can be injured by an improperly secured load.
"A special “Thank You” to you. From what I was told, you never let my daughter put her guard down. Good for you.
I appreciate all the hard work and dedication you’ve given to my daughter. I will recommend Valley Driving School to as many people as I can.
Again, “Thank You” to everyone. Who knows…maybe my daughter will be back for other types of drivers training ie: motorcycle, standard, or even semi-trucks. Could happen. She ‘loves’ to drive.
"I just wanted to send along a “Thank You” to all of you at Valley Driving School.
This has been a great experience for both my daughter and myself.
The office staff have been wonderful and always willing and able to sort through scheduling that works for us.
It can be a scary world out there driving our streets and now I know my daughter has been taught properly on how to handle those situations.
She’s a confident relaxed driver and I am a confident relaxed passenger/parent."
"We just wanted to tell you how impressed we were with the professional and thorough instruction our children received over the last several years.
Both kids' instructors were always punctual, polite and patient, giving our kids the knowledge and confidence to drive well and safely. Both passed their 'N' test on the first try. All dealings with the office staff were pleasant as well.
We would not hesitate to recommend Valley Driving to other parents looking for the right place for their children to learn to drive. Please pass our compliments and thanks to instructor! :)

"I want to thank my great instructor and helping me overcome my fear of driving.
I have failed the test a couple of times before taking lessons with him and frankly, this is the best investment I have done lately.
He helped me become a better driver, (I will always remember: mirror-signal-shoulder check), have confidence in myself and pass my test.
Great job! Thank you!"
I had 5 lessons with my Instructor and he was incredible, clear instructions and always updated on things I needed to do better right when they happened.
It felt like he wanted me to succeed not only because its part of his job, but because he genuinely wanted me to. The cost of the lessons were minimal in comparison to everything I have learned and I passed my road test on my first attempt.
"My instructor is kind and patient.
She made me feel comfortable behind the wheel and shaped me into the N driver I am today.
Everyone at Valley Driving School is really nice and welcoming. Also, the classroom is a good learning environment.
I highly recommend this driving school. Everyone I know got lessons there. :)"
