Are you planning to tow a trailer? You may need to add a trailer endorsement to your licence! In British Columbia, in order to tow trailers that can haul more than 4,600 kg, drivers need a special overweight trailer endorsement added to their licence.
Once a licence plate or insurance decal is affixed to a vehicle, many drivers don’t think about them again! It’s just a part of the process when owning and operating a vehicle - getting plates, buying insurance, and getting it registered. Insurance decals and licence plates can go missing after you’ve gone through the entire process, leaving you without these important vehicle identifiers, and they mostly go missing due to theft.
Space margins refer to the amount of space between you and other road users, and following distance is something that is measured between you and the vehicle in front of you. Leaving adequate distance within this space plays an important part when utilizing the see-think-do driving strategy. Giving yourself enough following distance means that you will have enough time to see hazards, think about what your options are, and react accordingly. When you follow too closely to road users ahead of you, you may not have enough time to react and respond to hazards or incidents.
