We’ve all witnessed it, and some of us can be prone to it - road rage. We could be having a good day but sometimes when we get behind the wheel, our fuse can be a little bit shorter. It’s possible some of us may be more sensitive to road rage so let’s dive right in to what we can do to prevent it or handle it, should we experience it.
The responsibility to drive defensively rests with drivers in British Columbia but, what does it really mean to be a defensive driver? Defensive driving goes beyond just following the rules of the road. It means anticipating the actions of other road users and taking measures to prevent incidents and collisions on the road.
Peer pressure has been around for a long time and isn’t likely to be going away any time soon. Peer pressure is an important aspect to consider once you’ve received your licence and are excited to get out on the road.
Long before your teenager receives their driver’s licence and heads out on the road, they will likely spend countless hours in the vehicle with you. These trips in the car are the perfect opportunity to educate the next crop of safe drivers before they ever get behind the wheel.
