In the third and final part of our three-part series, we are looking at lights and symbols that you will only find on newer vehicles. If you’re driving an older vehicle, this overview may be a bit envy-inducing as there are some modern lights and symbols that make it easier to figure out what’s happening with your car.
Whether you’re a new driver or a seasoned driver, there may be some lights and symbols that are yet to appear on your dashboard! We covered some of the most common lights and symbols already, but now we’re taking a deeper dive.
Modern vehicles can be equipped with about 64 dashboard lights and symbols, and many drivers admit that they are not fully familiar with the function or purpose of each individual light. While some drivers may have their dashboard lights and symbols committed to memory, it’s not a pleasant feeling when an obscure light begins to blink on the dash and you’re not sure what to do about it!
School in British Columbia starts up again soon, which means that school zones across the province will come into effect again too. Knowing when and where school zones are in effect is an important part of navigating the roads through both urban and rural communities, so we’re breaking down the top four questions we receive in regards to school zones!
"A special “Thank You” to you. From what I was told, you never let my daughter put her guard down. Good for you.
I appreciate all the hard work and dedication you’ve given to my daughter. I will recommend Valley Driving School to as many people as I can.
Again, “Thank You” to everyone. Who knows…maybe my daughter will be back for other types of drivers training ie: motorcycle, standard, or even semi-trucks. Could happen. She ‘loves’ to drive.
Best regards"

"I just wanted to send along a “Thank You” to all of you at Valley Driving School.
This has been a great experience for both my daughter and myself.
The office staff have been wonderful and always willing and able to sort through scheduling that works for us.
It can be a scary world out there driving our streets and now I know my daughter has been taught properly on how to handle those situations.
She’s a confident relaxed driver and I am a confident relaxed passenger/parent."
"We just wanted to tell you how impressed we were with the professional and thorough instruction our children received over the last several years.
Both kids' instructors were always punctual, polite and patient, giving our kids the knowledge and confidence to drive well and safely. Both passed their 'N' test on the first try. All dealings with the office staff were pleasant as well.
We would not hesitate to recommend Valley Driving to other parents looking for the right place for their children to learn to drive. Please pass our compliments and thanks to instructor! :)
THANK YOU!!!"

"I want to thank my great instructor and helping me overcome my fear of driving.
I have failed the test a couple of times before taking lessons with him and frankly, this is the best investment I have done lately.
He helped me become a better driver, (I will always remember: mirror-signal-shoulder check), have confidence in myself and pass my test.
Great job! Thank you!"

"Amazing staff!!
I had 5 lessons with my Instructor and he was incredible, clear instructions and always updated on things I needed to do better right when they happened.
It felt like he wanted me to succeed not only because its part of his job, but because he genuinely wanted me to. The cost of the lessons were minimal in comparison to everything I have learned and I passed my road test on my first attempt.
Thanks again!"

"My instructor is kind and patient.
She made me feel comfortable behind the wheel and shaped me into the N driver I am today.
Everyone at Valley Driving School is really nice and welcoming. Also, the classroom is a good learning environment.
I highly recommend this driving school. Everyone I know got lessons there. :)"
