Class 1 practice tests
A class 1 licence is required to operate semi-trailer trucks and will also allow you to drive all other motor vehicles or combinations of vehicles except motorcycles. Your first step prior to enrolling in the Class 1 MELT Program will be to get your learner's licence by successfully completing an ICBC combination knowledge test. This knowledge test will consist of both air brakes and class 1 content. You can prepare for your upcoming knowledge test by studying the ICBC Driving Commercial Vehicles manual and testing your knowledge with our online practice tests. The practice tests are a great tool to prepare you for the written part of ICBC Learners licence testing.
Our in-house education department has prepared hundreds of questions, comparable to the questions ICBC will use on the official class 1 knowledge test. Test your understanding of BC's road rules and regulations for class 1 and air brakes by taking the practice test as many times as you would like!
Our practice test also features a Resources section, where you can read and review passages from the ICBC Driving Commercial Vehicles manual, to clarify any information for your upcoming ICBC knowledge test.
The practice tests below are divided into air brakes content and class 1 content. In order to obtain your class 1 learner's licence, you'll need to answer air brakes questions during the ICBC class 1 combination knowledge test. We recommend using both practice tests below to prepare for your class 1 knowledge test.
Need more practice? We offer unique one-on-one or small group training sessions to help provide drivers with an understanding of the course material and key concepts required for the successful completion of the ICBC knowledge test. You can also try other knowledge tests for even more preparation!
