air brake practice tests
To operate a vehicle equipped with air brakes, you must have a BC driver's licence with an air brake endorsement (code 15). In order to add the air brake endorsement to your current class 5 licence or upgrade your licence to a class 2 or 3 with an air brake endorsement, you will need to successfully complete an ICBC air brake knowledge test. While not a separate knowledge test like class 2 or class 3 students are required to take, the class 1 knowledge test will also include questions on air brake equipment.
The first step for those working toward the air brake endorsement for class 2, class 3 or adding air to their current class 5, will be attending the air brake course at an approved Driver Training facility, like Valley Driving School. Upon completion of the course, you will be given a completion card that allows you to attempt the ICBC air brake knowledge test. You can also prepare for your upcoming knowledge test by studying the required chapters on air brakes in the ICBC Driving Commercial Vehicles manual and then test your knowledge with our online practice tests. Class 1 students are not required to complete an air brake course prior to their knowledge test, as the MELT Program will include air brake components. The practice test is a great tool to prepare you for theses ICBC computer knowledge test.
Our in-house education department has prepared hundreds of various questions, comparable to the questions ICBC will use on the official air brake knowledge test and the class 1 knowledge test, to test your understanding of a vehicle's air brake system. Take the practice test as many times as you would like to test your knowledge and understanding!
Our practice test also features a Resources section, where you can read and review passages from the ICBC Driving Commercial Vehicles manual, to clarify any information for your upcoming ICBC knowledge test.
