Top 5 Things to See at the 2019 Vancouver Motorcycle Show

Coming to the Abbotsford Tradex from January 18th to 20th, the 2019 Vancouver Motorcycle Show is prepared to deliver your fix of two-wheel freedom as we gear up for another epic riding season on the West Coast.

The Vancouver Motorcycle Show will have numerous exhibitions, fun activities, expert panels, shows, and all the latest gear and newest bikes on display. It is as much an opportunity to network with like-minded enthusiasts and learn about bikes, as it is drooling over the upcoming motorcycles the manufacturers have cooked up.

So, what’s there to see and do this year? In this post, we’re breaking down some of the most exciting and innovative events and opportunities you’ll see at the 2019 Vancouver Motorcycle show.

1. Seattle Cossacks Motorcycle Stunt & Drill Team

The Seattle Cossacks Motorcycle Stunt and Drill Team was established back in 1938 as a group of Seattle riders, businessmen, racers, and delivery drivers who aimed to “entertain and promote the positive image of motorcycling.” Using nothing but human ingenuity, the drill team is infamous for their climbing style of motorcycle riding, wherein riders climb on top of each other to create a massive human-bike-pyramid!

The Cossacks are named after legendary Russian cavalry members who were notoriously gifted in the art of horsemanship. As their 1930’s and 1940’s Harleys are often called Iron Horses, the Seattle Cossacks were born.

The team still rides and maintains vintage Harley Davidson motorcycles, with the oldest being a 1930 VL, and the newest being a 1949 45 Cl sporting Knucklehead engines and modified handlebars from late 50’s Flanders. The Seattle Cossacks only perform about 20 to 30 shows per year, so be sure not to miss this one in our backyard on Friday at 4:00 pm, Saturday at 12:00 pm, 2:00pm and 4:15 pm, and on Sunday at 12:00 pm and 1:30pm. Cossack performances will all be outside and are understandably dependent on weather conditions.

2. Moto Lifestyle Lounge

Your chance to meet and greet with fellow riders and take in an awesome show, courtesy of Vancouver folk, rock, and Latin group, Bandida. You’ll also see a slew of custom Triumph in this year’s Moto Lifestyle Lounge, brought to you by the folks at the International Motorsports Motorcycle Co. This is a 19+ lounge.

3. Vintage Trev-Deeley Harley-Davidson Museum

Sponsored by Trev-Deeley Motorcycles in Vancouver, a special exhibition of vintage and rare Harley Davidson’s will be on display at this year's show, inviting patrons to take a stroll down memory lane.

The Deeley family and their motorcycle accolades are legendary across Canada, responsible for bringing the first Harley Davidson dealership to Canada, setting up shop in 1917. The Deeley’s set up the expansion of their Harley-based business in 1925 along West Broadway. Trev Deeley joined his father’s business in 1935 and went on to become a fierce flat-track racer and Harley sponsored international competitor - he even went on to become the only civilian member of the Vancouver Police Department motorcycle drill team.

The Deeley’s are Canadian motorcycle royalty, and they’re bringing their finest from their 45,000 square foot showroom to display some of the rarest and most sought-after Harley relics ever released. Don’t miss this one.

4. The VanCity Stunters

Adding some Canuck stunt flavour to the outdoor aspect of the 2019 Vancouver Motorcycle Show is the VanCity Stunters, wowing audiences with 2-wheel and 4-wheel stunts like wheelies, headstands, and burnouts.

Catch them Friday at 3:00pm and 6:15pm, Saturday at 11:30am, 3:00pm, and 6:15pm, and Sunday at 1:00pm and 3:30pm. This is another outdoor event, so make sure to dress appropriately for the elements!

5. SHE Rides

Bikes aren’t just for boys, and the Vancouver riding scene is fortunate to have such an engaged and influential female ridership present at this year’s show. SHE Rides is a celebration of female motorcycle camaraderie, uniting women who ride - and those who are curious about starting.

SHE Rides Night kicks off on January 18th, offering 1/2 price admission for women after 5 pm, as well as a ladies'-only motorcycle draw for a brand new Kawasaki Versys-X 300 ABS motorcycle.

"A special “Thank You” to you. From what I was told, you never let my daughter put her guard down. Good for you.

I appreciate all the hard work and dedication you’ve given to my daughter. I will recommend Valley Driving School to as many people as I can.

Again, “Thank You” to everyone. Who knows…maybe my daughter will be back for other types of drivers training ie: motorcycle, standard, or even semi-trucks. Could happen. She ‘loves’ to drive.

Best regards"
